From nothing but each other to building businesses
Andre Popa was born in Romania under Communism. When he was nine, his family left for America with no English, no money and nothing but each other. His parents had been assigned the trade of electrician back home, so they took whatever electrical jobs they could find and eventually opened a company of their own. Andre grew up working beside them, learning early that in America effort and skill could change a family's future.
As a young adult his entrepreneurial streak pulled him beyond electrical work and into design and construction, where he found his passion. His eye for distinctive design led to high-profile projects, including homes for celebrity clients.
In 2000 Andre met Tami, a kindred spirit. They met on the 11th, share a life path number of 11, and kept noticing the number at turning points in their lives, so when they launched their design and construction firm the name came easily: 11 Dezign. Together they grew it into a one-stop design-build company known for a first-class client experience rather than mere "customer satisfaction."
Mentors as well as entrepreneurs
After more than two decades of building companies side by side, Andre and Tami created Badassery Factory, a mentorship program for life, relationships and business. It grew out of their own experience overcoming a poverty mindset, fear, self-doubt and limiting beliefs. The people they coach consistently mention the same things: integrity, real listening, and honesty even when it's uncomfortable.
